I Teach

I like nothing better than being in a classroom, shaking up predictable ideas, building a community of participants who learn and apply new ways of speaking, thinking, listening, and making decisions.

I teach presentation skills, communication and emotional intelligence for engineering and high tech professionals. These are the skills and abilities they need to stimulate creative thinking, optimize teamwork, drive project progress, and improve their company’s competitive advantage!

In my classes, participants learn invigorating, pragmatic, garden-fresh new ways of tackling tough, but all-too-familiar, communication and leadership challenges. I bring into class not only my own experience and research but also the works and ideas of today’s thought leaders.

Participants in my classes say they really enjoy the fresh material and unconventional thinking, and they’re able to put what they’ve learned to use right away.

About Susan

I’m an experienced manager, a language junkie, an avid reader, a writer, a public speaker, and a bit of a geek.

I had a long career in high tech management. I’ve managed, and helped others manage, impossible deadlines, change, virtual teams, project life cycles, high severity problems, expense reduction, time-to-market, over-encumbered process, and customer expectations—the usual, but often hazardous and demanding challenges of daily life in the technology industry.

I prepared for this career by majoring in English and theater in college. Some might say it’s an unusual combination—the liberal arts and technology leadership—but it’s given me a keen interest in business communication challenges of all kinds.
